21 June, 2019, The Liberacy:- Electric Vehicles with ZERO registration fees. The newly formed NDA government in its second term, from the Road Transport and Highways Ministry, issued a draft that puts and exempts any type of registration fees on Electric Vehicles.
The new draft covers almost every vehicle running on Electric power, that includes Scooters, Motorbikes, Rickshaws, and Cars in a step to curb the pollution that has gone miles extra causing an adverse effect on nature.
Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways in the Indian Government, in an interview said that Electric Vehicles are the future of Indian transport system, and criticizing Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal he said, free rides of the metro is not a solution, but converting your transport vehicles into an Electric Vehicle is.
He even went on suggesting ways to lower the pollution blast in the country. He suggested a model of 2 wheel electric taxis, he said, “Why to have a four-wheel vehicle for a single person going to the airport, when you can ride in a 2 wheel running on electric power. This will lower the pollution by emission and also be a helping hand in managing traffic.”
His suggestion of having an Uber Bike or Ola Bike is commendable.
