New Delhi, September 5, 2019, The Liberacy:- Single-Use Plastic to be banned in India from October 2, 2019, on Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. As announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from the red fort on Independence Day, this is seen as a small step towards green India and giving a boost to the Swach Bharat Abhiyan.

The action against the Single-Use Plastic was taken in a meeting, with a presentation to PM and his council of ministers. The theme will be Shramdaan.
As guidelines roll, 4378 urban local bodies have been instructed and asked to collect and separate the recyclable and non-recyclable plastics. The plastic debris on the side of the National Highways will be recycled in making roads. The textile market has been assumed for making of Jute bags, that will replace the plastic bags.

Gramsabhas has been aimed to free from plastic waste by the year 2022. 500,000 Sarpanchs (head of the village) and Swachhagrahis will receive a personalized letter from the Prime Minister himself.

Different ministries, including Housing and Urban Affairs, Railway and Tourism to conduct massive scaled Shramdaan program that will include many celebrities.

The total ban of Single-Use Plastic (SUP) is a big step from the Indian Government that will surely make a small difference in building green India.
