April 30, 2020, The Liberacy:- Remdesivir might be the medicinal magic for the treatment of Coronavirus. A recent study, with thousands of Covid19 patients involved, gave a report that highlighted a recovery rate of 31%.
The study was conducted by a US institute, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID)
The study was conducted on a total of 1063 people infected with the coronavirus. There were two medicines involved, Remdesivir and Placebo.
Remdesivir on one hand gave a recovery of 11 days, whereas Placebo took 15 days to disinfect a person.
Remdesivir had an 8% death rate and Placebo has a death rate of 11%.
This highlighted the use and importance of Remdesivir and hence led to further verifications.
The report was kept in front of the white house and that took its place in the press briefing, where it was said by the spokesperson that a recovery rate of 31% was not enough. They also highlighted a positive side of the study, that proved that the Coronavirus can be cured by a Drug.
Remdesivir is not put up as a standard for further experiments. It was developed by a biopharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences, with its headquarter at Foster City, California, USA.
This drug is said to have shown various similarities to that of the building block of RNA, of the Coronavirus’ material. Due to this property, it stops the virus to replicate the RNA.
The study proved that this method followed by the Remdesivir was the most effective against all the coronavirus’ including MERS and SARS.

Mark Denison, a virologist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, who was not involved in the NIAID study, reassured the effectiveness of the Ramdesivir against all coronavirus’.
Remdesivir was stated to be the most effective against animals if it was dosed/injected in early infections. This drug stops or slows viral copying, without blocking the body’s Immune System. This might save many innocent lives.
The global count of the Coronavirus cases has crossed the mark of 3 million with recovery cases nearing 1 million and adding a total death of more than 200,000.
The USA has the maximum cases at 10,64,353 and recovered cases being at 126,325. Deaths 61,504.
Spain at the second position with cases count reaching 2,39369 and recording 24,543 deaths.
India has a total of 33,050 cases, with recovered cases up to 8,325 and the death of 1074 people.
