Oxygen on Mars can now be Produced Scientifically

Scientists from five institutes have discovered a new way to produce oxygen on Mars using a plasma-based method, and it proves to be the most efficient but has two major problems.

Scientists can now convert Carbon Dioxide (CO2) into Oxygen (O2) by splitting CO2 in the Martian atmosphere itself.

In a plasma-based method that is a complementary path to NASA’s Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment (MOXIE), scientists can now separate Oxygen inside the martian environment that has a high production rate per kilogram.
Scientists from five institutes are involved in the process, including the University of Lisbon, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sorbonne University, Eindhoven University of Technology, and the Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research.

There are two major problems in the process though,
First is the decomposition of carbon Dioxide after the Oxygen has been extracted from it, and the Second is the split of Oxygen from its gas mixture.

Martian atmosphere is mainly focused on Carbon Dioxide and has an abundance of it, one can say that Mars is basically formed of Carbon Dioxide, and favors suitable pressure for plasma ignition for the In-situ process of producing Oxygen on Mars.
