Manila:- Typhoon Rai slams Philippines when the country faces new Omicron cases of Covid infection. The typhoon made landfall in the southern part of the country with an intensity of Category 5, forcing the government to make mass evacuations of around 100,000 people from the region.
Typhoon Rai is the 15th typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, as it is still moving to the central part of the archipelago.
There have been reports of massive power outages in several parts of the country, and the word of relief is that there have been no casualties reported so far.
Airlines from the region have been canceled until the weather reports allow a safe flight.
