Primordial Helium appears to be leaking from Earth’s Core that formed during the Big Bang, with around 3 kg escaping from Earth’s interior core every year.
Helium-3 is the primordial gas escaping, which is predominantly found in Solar Nebulae, and with this discovery, the human race is a step closer to knowing how ‘our own planet first came into existence.’
The Primordial Helium is leaking from Earth along the mid-ocean ridge
Helium-3 found in the interior of Earth from Solar Nebulae indicates that Earth was formed at the heart of the Cosmic Dust Cloud that formed the Solar System.
Helium present on Earth is majorly found in Helium-4 form, but the Helium-3 isotope form is also found in small amounts from the volcanic eruptions and the rocks erupted out during the process known as Ocean Island Basalts.
The presence of Helium isotope within the core of earth can only be present if the earth was formed inside the Solar Nebulae, and not on the side fringes during the waning phase.
To understand the amount of Helium and isotopes present on and inside Earth, scientists modeled ‘Earth’s Helium Inventory’ by dividing it into phases, first is the “ingassing” phase and the second is the “degassing” phase.
