Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suspended after a disciplinary action taken by an independent officer, investigating the allegations made by a 24-year-old woman, who accused Deshaun Watson of sexual misconduct during massage sessions.
The independent disciplinary officer handling the case was retired judge Sue L Robinson, who, while handing out the decision, said that “the pattern of behavior was egregious” and also pointed out that the sexual conduct by the player was “Nonviolent” and hence gave out the decision of suspending him for a total of six games.
Deshaun Watson suspended by the officer for allegations made by a woman, can now be challenged as the agreement allows the NFL to appeal if there is a disagreement with the decision.
Retired judge Robinson is currently the NFL’s disciplinary officer, who reviewed the findings of an investigation conducted by the NFL before Robbinson was approached for the case.
There was an argument for an indefinite suspension by NFL for Deshaun Watson, which was to allow flexibility if additional cases come out, but mostly depends on the public outcry as was seen in the case of Ray Rice in 2014, in which he was seen getting violent with his wife in an elevator at Atlantic City, for which he was given a suspension of two games, but was later given indefinite suspension after a big public outcry.
