April 26, 2019, The Liberacy:- Weather department on Friday issued a red alert for the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on April 30 and estimated rainfall at many places.
The department has said that a low pressurised area is expected to intensify into a depression in coming 24 hours over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean.
The Department has advised the fishermen to opt out going into the sea until 30th April as the cyclone Fani is expected to move Northwards off to the east coast of Sri Lanka.
S Balachandran, the India Meteorological Department’s Chennai regional director, said that they are monitoring the low-pressure area system and by 27th of April they will be able to point the exact location of the cyclone Fani’s fall.
