When a train ticket is booked and it is on the waiting list, that means you are in a queue for ticket confirmation, subject to if there is any cancellation from the train bookings, and if the waiting list ticket is not confirmed before the chart preparation, it is considered as canceled, and the full amount is refunded to the passenger through the means the ticket was booked in the first place.
There are no other ways of getting a waiting list confirmed as everything is managed in a queue through computers and the passengers will be notified before the departure of the train on their registered email address and phone number.
