Nashik, Maharashtra:- Nashik Earthquake having a magnitude of 3.6, hits the city’s western region in the early morning of 23rd November 2022. There were no damages or casualties reported in the early stages, but the tremors felt created a social panic.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at latitude 19.95 & Longitude 72.94 with a depth of 5 km, located 89km west of the city of Nashik.
The National Center for Seismology tweeted on the Nashik Earthquake stating, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 23-11-2022, 04:04:35 IST, Lat: 19.95 and Long: 72.94, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 89km W of Nashik, Maharashtra, India.”
This news from Nashik has come only a day after a 4.3 magnitude earthquake was detected in the Himalayan region near the Kargil district of Ladakh.
The continuous occurrence of earthquakes represents changes in the fault and fault scrap happening deep inside the crust that may be creating seismic waves.
