Karnaprayag, Uttarakhand:- After several cracks were discovered in Joshimath, new cracks were found in more than 80 houses in Karnaprayag, and this has caused panic in other regions surrounding it.
New cases of land submergence are reported continuously in the hills of Uttarakhand.
More than 80 houses in Karnaprayag showed similar cracks caused by the land submergence happening due to much construction work in the region, as the suggested basic cause behind the land sinking.
Disaster Management Secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha headed a survey of the affected areas and several NDRF teams are deployed in the region.
The survey team conducted a house survey to find the effects of the land sink in the regions of Manohar Bagh, Singdhar, JP, Marwari, Tapovan, Karnaprayag, Sunil Gaon, Vishnu Prayag, Ravigram, and Gandhinagar
There is already a complete ban on any construction in the affected region announced by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
