China’s Belt and Road Initiative a Vision?

April 29, 2019, The Liberacy:- On the opening of Belt and Road Initiative in China, both nations decided to hold a part of the Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) mid-June in London, said Britain’s Finance Minister Philip Hammond. The EFD has been delayed in the past due to diplomatic tensions between the two nations, that rose last year when a Britain warship entered one of the islands in the South China Sea, which claims to be its part.

President Xi addresses Belt and Road Initiative.

Hammond, while speaking at a summit in Beijing on China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), applauded China for the re-creation of the old silk road under the Belt and Road Initiative and called it a “Vision.”

China’s Belt and Road Initiative connects China to Asia and Europe, asking the countries to be part of it and helping them to trade at a single line. The whole project connects atleast 70% of the worlds population to which the Hammond tagged as “Vision.”

India has been opposing the Initiative as a part of the Belt passes through the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and has opted out of the whole project, giving the priority to its National integrity.
