Nashik, July 10, 2019, The Liberacy:- Nashik Metro is all set to be on the tracks, after the two major holders of the project, Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) and City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) approved the feasibility report presented by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MahaMetro).

MahaMetro MD Brijesh Dixit in his statement said that the approval from the stakeholders has got to take a step further in making the DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the Project.
This Metro project will be different from the other metros working in the other parts of India.
– Nashik Metro will have high transit rubber-tyred arms that will have the capability of running with Battery Backup.
This is mainly because the number of people using Metro in Nashik will be less than any other metro, hence the use of conventional metro was avoided.
Conventional Metro needs at least a count of 20,000 people, but for Nashik it is expected to be around 8000.
The railway consultancy firm has been helping MahaMetro for preparing the DPR. It has also helped MahaMetro in preparing the feasibility report.
The project was accounted for ₹1800 Crore after a long survey.
The Metro project was announced last year by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, as a will of improving the public transport in the City.
The DPR of a project outlines every detail of the project, including the tenders to be rolled out for the construction site, exact locations, speed for the location, number of pillars to be used, stations, etc.
The prepared DPR will then be sent to the State Government for approval and then to the Centre Government. After the approval from the two governments, everyone can hope this project to be on the ground for the people of Nashik.
